I always encourage natural remedies for headaches (and all aches, actually) versus the popable pills that line drug store shelves nowadays. NSAIDs, which are the most popular go-to for headache relief are actually pretty awful because they can cause more serious health issues like ulcers.
Although there are several natural remedies for headaches, this peppermint headache oil is one of my favorites. It’s easy and inexpensive to make, plus it quickly gets rid of that awful throbbing sensation. The key is to make sure you buy a therapeutic grade essential oil to use as your base.
You’ll need:
20 drops of peppermint essential oil
4 tablespoons of almond or grapeseed oil (this will act as the carrier oil)
Directions:
Mix your carrier oil with the essential oil
Put the mixture into a bottle, shake well, and add the lid
To use it, gently rub the oil into your temples, forehead, neck, and shoulders. Be careful to avoid your eyes, because it will burn! You should start to feel relief within a few minutes.
